HEARSAY & LOWDOWN ARCHIVE (2003-2007):
May 26 , 2007: It's Memorial Day weekend, the weather in Chicago sucks so I'm sitting here messing around with my crappy website. I've added some more design work to my gallery of work section. I've also been messing with a "shortcut icon", which is a small 16x16 pixel image that should now be displayed above in your address bar.
May 25 , 2007: Currently trying to make an alternate version of my website that will work on mobile devices.
May 18 , 2007: Someone stole my Prada sunglasses from work...awesome.
November 11, 2006: Just realizing I haven't updated my website or any of the artwork in years, not that I plan to (or have time to) do anything about it right now. Yeah, that's about it, hey I think Top Chef's on TV...
January 01, 2006: Some good samaritan decided it would be cool to steal my North Face jacket with my car & apartment keys, my roommate's car & apartments keys, and my cell phone in the pockets from Cubby Bear in Wrigley on New Year's Eve. Subsequently, I find that in the span of a day the asshole charged over $150 on my cell phone downloading ring tones, graphics, and videos (thanks guy, you're swell.)
October
02, 2005: Happy Birthday Cheech & Chong Peterson.
October
01, 2005: Noah came and helped me move into my new apartment
in Chicago, it took us a solid 24 hours, but we did it. Looking forward
to good times in the city and also having a roommate (my good buddy Al
from back in the glory days of high school and MWCI cord league homerun
derby).
August
30 , 2005: I need to figure out how to make this text area scrollable,
time to dig up my old Java programming books. Anyway, added more crap
to the crap...errr, work section.
August
21 , 2005: (Tooting a totally different horn than I was in March)
So the lease on my apartment is up at the end of September and I'm currently
looking for a new studio or apartment in Chicago. Time to bite the traffic
bullet in favor of living in a more happening part of town. About the
most exciting thing that's happened in the past year where I live was
a plane crash [nobody was hurt] not a sixth of a mile from my apartment
[I live across the street from Palwaukee Airport]. I will definitely miss
my apartment and the location, but basically nothing else whatsoever.
March
09, 2005: Wow, I've really been neglecting my website lately.
I have a lot of updates to take care of [namely I am adding some pictures
to the photo section, and also some of my professional
artwork into the work section]. Things are going
really well. I found an apartment less than 3 miles from my office building
in Northbrook, IL. Anyone from Chicago or the surrounding area knows how
valuable time is when it comes to commuting back and forth from work and
home - a rainy day can add 2 hours of driving time to your day around
here - it sucks! For me, however, it might only add a measily 10 or 15
minutes - NOICH! Learn to drive Illinoians! You suck!
July
19, 2004: Well, meet the new graphic designer for Old
World Industries, Inc. I'm excited as hell to move to Chicago, and of
course, eager to start my career and post-college life. Much thanks and
appreciation goes out to all those who were pulling for and supporting
me while I was bouncing around and job searching after graduation. I hope
to be able to post some fresh new artwork in my work section very soon.
Thanks again to all the great people at Old World Industries and to my
friends and family at home and abroad!
January
21, 2004: Word on the street is that I still haven't found a
job. Truth of the matter is that I'm just picky and can't decide which
of the hundreds of job offers to accept. It's called contract negotiaton.
Then again, another point of view would be that I simply just can't find
a job. I suppose I'll leave that up for third parties to decide.
December 20, 2003: Finally graduated from the University of Iowa,
make checks payable to Nick Jones and mail them to...well just call my
Mom for the address.
October 14, 2003: Have recently cataloged my entire music collection
on Guzzlefish.com; I would recommend this site to anyone wishing to create
a neat and detailed record of their music pile.
You can check mine out here.
October 06 , 2003: Back in school and facing my final semester
here at The University of Iowa. Looking forward to adding to and revamping
the site in the near future.
